Academic writing is a traditional way for university students to show how well they have learnt. It should be formal , objective and well-organised. And it should follow conventions. Students may not include their opinions in their academic writing. But if they do so, they should give their opinions together with reasonable evidences and supporting arguments.
Essay is a kind of academic writing. It has an organised format. It should have an introduction and conclusion. In fact, it acts as a tool for student to express their opinions on a specific topic regrading their studying field.
